This little red ballerina from Philip Melvin is one of the best pieces I have seen by him. It is made of painted, carved and assembled roots and wood. She stands 33" tall, 19" wide, 7" deep. In excellent condition. The figure lifts off the base.

This piece was created by Gilbert Desrochier, initially as a free standing sculpture (please see attached j-peg which shows him standing next to it. Then later in 1989 he mounted it's shortened version to the roof of his tractor as a part of it's transformation into an arc. (also shown in attached j-peg) These images are on pages 11 and 35 of John Hartman's book the Peaceable Kingdom of Gilbert Desrochiers.
The deer is made of cement and it is fairly heavy. Notice the metal loops that were used to strap it down. It is 39" long, 37" tall, and 19" wide. I washed it a bit after taking these photos and it looks good, but you can see the paint flaking on his belly. He is solid and stands well on the base. An important piece by an important Ontario folk artist.

This is a wonderful, 1880's rich, indigo blue and shirting prints, Irish Chain quilt. Measures 66 x 81". Pieces measure 1 1/2" square. Deep Indigo blue prints are set with shirting prints, wonderful and interesting. Hand quilted at an exceptional 11 stitches per inch. Hand bound in deep indigo blue. Some treadle stitching noted, see photo.
This quilt appears to have never been used. There is no wear noted. We found a small gray spot and a tiny age spot, both shown in the close-ups. Normal from long term storage. No odors, crisp and ready to display.
