"When you and I were 17, or antique car study" by Fred Trask

16" x 20" painting on artist board by noted 1st generation Nova Scotia folk artist Fred Trask. Titled on the back in pencil "When you and I were 17, or antique car study". Dated March 1979. In original frame. Excellent condition. Fred has put a lot of information on the back in pen including his S.I.N., and there is a clipping of a newspaper article with a picture of Fred and this painting tapped onto the back.

Expertly completed with fine hand applique and beautiful hand quilting at 8 stitches per inch. Hand bound. MINT condition, this quilt was safely stored away after completing. It has never been used. Antique 1880's Whig Rose Sampler Crib Quilt - 2 sides

Whig Rose Sampler Crib quilt newly released from a well-known collector's collection. Measures 38 x 38" and has two sides, one a vibrant sampler of whig rose, peony, North Carolina Lilly, stars and basket. The other side is a very old star with sawtooth border.

This quilt is so unique with a well-used backside that was on it's own right, a collectible crib quilt. The front is in very good condition with light age spotting and minor popping (see photos)

The front is hand appliqued and then treadle machine quilted. The binding is also machine bound.

If you collect high end crib quilts, you will cherish this one!

knife sharpening box in original colour

This knife sharpening box comes from a home in Stevensville, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario. Circa 1860. Square nails with a few round nails added at some point to firm it up, visible in attached photo #3. Good original colour, which I would describe as black of the dark, bluish variety. It is 7" wide, 24 1/2" tall, 5" deep.

early Ontario quilt rack

Fine form, a nice shoe foot, early peg construction, and great original colour distinguish this Ontario quilt rack. Untouched surface. One mend which seems quite sturdy, visible in attached photo #4. South Western Ontario, circa 1840. 47" tall, 41" wide, and 20" deep at the base. Upright section is 16" deep.
