This is a beautiful and important Hutterite table which is documented and illustrated on page 117 of John Fleming and Mike Rowan's book Folk Furniture of Canada's Doukhobors, Hutterites, Mennonites, and Ukrainians(see attached photo#6). The caption there reads: Table- Hubbard Saskatchewan, Peryhitka family, early twentieth century, spruce top and pine legs, old brown overpaint over original dark brown paint. The description reads: This is a multiple use (kitchen/dining) table with typical square tapered legs and applied diamond blocks to cover the rather crude, butt-jointed construction of the corners. The continuous undulating line of the apron is a decorative profile found more often on pie-shelves and cornices. In this case it adds an element of visual interest to an otherwise entirely utilitarian object. Height 30", length 71 1/4", width 32".

This is a dandy little dresser or document box from Ontario. Circa 1840 or thereabouts. It is of a simple butt end construction, but is well proportioned, and in excellent condition. The nails are of a hand clipped earlier variety (attached photo #6), and the brass hinges and lock appear to be original. I did notice that three of the screws on the box side of the hinges are larger than the others which indicates the original smaller screws came loose at some point and were replaced with slightly larger ones. It appears that this happened a long time ago. My feeling is that the box existed for about forty years with just a redish stain surface, and was then grain painted sometime about 1880, but others may argue it was painted when it was made. It's got a great untouched finish in either case. 12" wide, 6" tall, 7" deep.

This is a beautiful, native - made cribbage board from the Muskoka area. Circa 1930. In excellent condition. Copper inlay into bone. It has a little cap on the end which covers a reservoir for the playing pieces. I think that it may have been the copper end on a lead pencil. The counter pegs are carved wood and I would think are original. Everything is complete and sturdy and it has a beautiful untouched patina. 13 1/2" long, 5 1/2" wide, 3 " tall.
